Ceuta and UNESCO

 00. Prefacio

What options would some of the elements of Ceuta's historical heritage have to be declared World Heritage by UNESCO? This is basically the answer that is attempted in the article CEUTA AND UNESCO that appears, among others, in Transfretana 9, The Historical Heritage of Ceuta and its Management, published by the Instituto de Estudios Ceutíes in April 2024 (the pdf can be downloaded at this link).

In its digital version, the article is divided into 9 chapters, which can be accessed directly by clicking on each of the images or by browsing the menu that appears under each header or in the footer.

The presentation of the publication took place at the State Public Library with the participations of the director of the Instituto de Estudios Ceutíes, Jose Antonio Alarcón, the coordinator of the publication, Adolfo Hernández Lafuente, one of the authors, José María Campos, and at the end (minute 38:25) I quickly explain what this exercise consisted of exploring the possibilities the city would have for an UNESCO declaration.
