Going forward on our research on what could be a proper framework for contemporary creation in the desert, we think it would be interesting to stay more time outside the oasis, settling down a camp near nomads. In these conditions, artists will be able to concentrate their researches in a wild space without elements that could distract them from analysing the relation between nature and human being.
As usual we did an open call for applications, we did the selection but we had to postponed the event because of the COVID-19.
At the end of August 2020, a fire burnt a third of the surface of the oasis and we helped the committee created to coordinate the help, the donations and the reconstruction of the oasis.
After somme discussions with the team and the Caravane Tighmert artists community, we decided it was important to celebrate the 2020 edition in December, at least with the artists selected and living in Moroccan soil-
For me, it was impossible to come to Morocco, so I could just help with the communication on social medias with the pictures and videos my colleagues sent me.
However, we tried another kind of epilogue through internet, once the artists came back to theirs cities, which became a series of conversations not only on the works and experiences of participants, it was also an opportunity to go deeper on some subjects and also to tell some of the stories behind the event and through the time.
But we have also wanted to know more about the impact of this kind of event on the inhabitants of the oasis, ans specially on one of the member of our team, Ghassan Kaaibich.
