🅦 Dune barrier Tissardmine (Morocco) 2015 partner: Café Tissardmine. collaborators: children of Tissardmine. WORK IN PROGRESS
As a continuation of the research about dune barriers, we have drawn the contour of the dune in order to follow the variations due to the wind and the rammed earth wall we built in December. We have to thanks the kids of the village for their help.
After the summer we can see how the dune has moved away towards the south and in November it seems its surface has decreased. But we also think that at a moment the dune has been in contact with the barrier and that some sand has passed through the sides (we don't know if completely), it means maybe the dune has been retained or at least the sand has been diverted.
Anyway, for a rigorous monitoring we need the weather data and hereinafter we will be able to collaborate with the "Haut Commissariat aux Eaux et Forêts et à la Lutte contre la Désertification" in Errachidia.
This project has been made in the framework of Marsad Drâa, our platform for desert researches.
